Editorial Standard
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it. This page explains what we correct, how you can tell us about an error, and how we handle it.
01 Our approach
Accuracy matters more than speed. If a published story, headline, caption, chart or data point is inaccurate, we review it and correct it.
02 What we correct
- Factual errors in text, headlines, captions or graphics.
- Incorrect names, titles, figures, dates or quotes.
- Errors in data or in the way a source has been attributed.
Disagreement with an opinion or with our editorial judgement is not an error, but we welcome feedback on those too.
03 How to report an error
Email us at hello@mediacircular.com or use the contact form and choose “Correction request”. Please include:
- The link to the story.
- What you believe is wrong.
- The correct information and, if you can, a source for it.
04 What happens next
We review every request. If we confirm an error, we correct the story and add a note to the article saying what was changed. Minor typographical fixes that do not affect meaning may be made without a note.
In rare cases, for example where a story cannot be corrected adequately, we may remove it and explain why.
